The run starts and finishes at Camp Sekani Park (6707 E Upriver Drive, Spokane, WA), a 125-acre natural area just east of Minnehaha. Parking is available near course start. After entering Camp Sekani Park, follow the signs to bypass the usual parking lot and drive further into the park.
Camp Sekani was first defined in 1908 along with several Spokane parks. Sekani means “Children or Dweller of the Rocks” in Salish. During the 1920s and 1930s, Sekani was used for scouting activities. Now a large trail system managed by Spokane Parks and Rec, the area offers great trail running and mountain biking all the way up to Beacon Hill for great views of Spokane. Since the course is on a hill, it features frequent elevation changes.
The course does change slightly each year as trails are added and modified due to maintenance. Maps for the 2015 race are below.
